Shane Scheib – Fast Friends

Shane Scheib – Fast Friends

From Nashville comes a fresh male artist known as Shane Scheib who just released his latest 5 track effort “Fast Friends” (2015). He approaches his music in much the same way he does life. His laid back and easy going personality translates into the lyrics and tone of his music yet his performances are energetic and portray him as the hardworking musician from Nashville.

This EP personifies the life experience to a “T”. I always listen to the opening track extremely carefully. It’s the opening track the artist has selected to hit your ears first and foremost. The opening track “Run!” sets the stage rather appropriately for a CD like this. It was a great intro piece that stuck in my head and had me eager for what lied ahead. All in all the whole CD is brilliantly delivered with a richly woven Alternative Rock Folk-ish texture with songs that have a serious popish staying power. To be honest I can’t say enough about Scheib’s overall appeal and signature sound. There is a certain fearlessness in the music. Combining a present voice, versatile guitar skills and a spectrum of emotion, Scheib is emerging as a formidable emotional man’s writer and musician. His songs resonate, and are as likely to move you as they are to get stuck in your head. “Fast Friends” captures a very pure and genuine sound that grabs the listener right from the start and doesn’t let go. Scheib has a sound that favors many male pop artists in the late 70’s like Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, The Band and Bread but with a modern-day feel. I this respect I can also hear Joe Purdy, Griffin House, Eric Hutchinson, Barefoot Truth and Jack Johnson to John Mayer. I’ve never heard an artist so skillfully combine so many genera’s into one unique sound.

If there was one word I would use to describe Shane Scheib it would be passionate. This CD will simply make your day more entertaining, but there is an undeniable passion beneath all this. Scheib is a very capable writer and performer, but it’s obvious to me his primary goal as an artist is to make this world a better place one song at a time.
